FRR Vinyl Update 07/02/2008

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

If piano house is your thing then Juanjo Martin & Javi Reina Vs D’Antelo - Back To The Past coming out of Spain on Set Me Free Records is for you. Big chunky beats and a huge piano breakdown with a nod back to the old skool days.

Thomas Gold provides another huge remix of Jim Tonique & Patrick Bryze - Better World Part 2. Out of Germany this track also contains remixes from Dirty Freek, Marco Monaco and Beat Thiefs. Uplifting electro with a seriously funky vibe.

A massive track from late last year is now in on import featuring all the big mixes. Splittr - All Alone is a collaboration between Mark Yardley (Stanton Warriors) and Martijn Ten Velden. The Original Exended mix is included and remixes come from Dim Chris, Michael Gray and Shadowdancer.

Out of Italy come Checkmate EP Vol 2 a mix of electro and progressive cuts from Funkellers and The System (Gianni Bini). The 12 contains some wicked dubs.

On the progressive theres a couple of really hot releases. First up is Mark Cyris - More Things on new German label Observe. Well produced chunky progressive house with a remix from Shiloh that leads the track down a more prog/electro direction.

Charles Gudagafva - Adam is the third release on West Recordings and has already gained support from the likes of Sasha, Digweed, Quivver and Kleinenberg. Top notch production, clean crunchy beats and a dark filmlike fell add up to a superb release from West Recordings.

Cahill - Trippin On You - 3 Beat Blue (3BLUE002)

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

Continuing a flurry of massive tunes in quick succession, particulaly Marco Demark - Tiny Dancer which is still ripping up dancefloors thanks to a huge variety of remixes including the huge Deadmau5 remixes, 3 Beat Blue unleash Cahill - Trippin On You. The Original mix is a full on peak time vocal monster with superb vocals from Nikki Belle that probably makes this track THE first big vocal tune of 2008. Already climbing the club charts its probably gonna follow on from the success that Marco Demark - Tiny Dancer is currently receiving. With uplifting chords and a strong catchy vocal its a sure fire winner. Watch out Miami!

A name gaining momentum now is Thomas Gold and he teams up with Wawa on the flip side remix that adds a touch of electro. Keeping the vocal and the big big chords for the breakdown in tact but adding touch of trademark dirty bass.

Both mixes will no doubt be hammering the clubs for many weeks, months and probably years to come!

Not a label content with one set of remixes, 3 Beat Blue supply a second disc of bassline rich Wideboys mixes which will be in stock very soon.

Marco Demark feat Casey Barnes ‘Tiny Dancer’

Friday, February 1st, 2008

3 Beat Blue turn in another monster from Italian DJ Marco Demark sampling one of Elton John’s big hits re-sung by Casey Barnes following on from recent strong releases by Robbie Rivera and Cahill. The Camel Rider mix on disc one plays on the quality vocal taken and sees them back in action again after a couple of great releases on Subliminal in 2003-4. Moto Blanco also on disc one takes down a slightly smoother route but still very housey style.

As expected from the artist of the moment Deadmau5 turns in both a quality vocal and dub for disc two. The dub has a nice progressive feel that plays on the main riff to great effect, 10 out of 10, its one of those tunes that is going to be around for ages. Plays by Pete Tong, Eric Morillo, Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren.
