TUNE OF THE WEEK! Lank ‘Confrontation’ Boz Boz

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

Lank ‘Confrontation’ is our new tune of the week, coming in on Quivver’s Boz Boz label, its a big sounding progressive anthem. Available to purchase on 12″ vinyl here

Péter Golyán is a young producer from Hungary and here provides us with two excellent cuts under the Lank moniker. Confrontation sounds like its a remix of digweed and muirs bedrock remix of chakra ‘i am’ from 1996. The track has an old sound but being on Boz Boz a label ran by one of the big names of the 1995/1996 progressive sound - Quivver, its not surprising.

The intro is atmospheric and organic sounding with a nice string laden intro. The driving bass then comes in and eventually gives way to a rich melodic almost sitar like riff surorunded by lush pads and fx sounding before the driving bass drops back and the journey continues with dark sound fx.

Wicked Soul is a slower stripped down techier affair, the break has the dark and atmospheric sound that Confrontation has but in a cleaner and less ‘big’ sounding than the flip

Both tracks are definate winners, Confrontation for peak time progressive fans and Wicked soul for lovers of the more tech prog sound

First Rhythm Records back online with new site features

Friday, December 14th, 2007

First Rhythm Records, after a short break has relaunched with more features aimed at making your online experience better. Its taken some time to build with my own fair hands (with design help from our friends at PRWD) but the new site features include:

More items on the home page so you can view whats been happening that week with new releases and used vinyl and easy navigation to your preferred product area. Features on our home page include groupings of popular styles or eras of music ie Sasha classics, Renaissance, Hacienda anthems so you can instantly find tracks from special years or from popular dj’s, these areas will change regularly.

A list of recent searches is displayed on all pages to give you an idea of what people are using First Rhythm to find.

Record detail page suggests further tracks by artist and also suggests other items within the current category that you may be interested in.

On our website we have the opportunity for you to submit any of your wanted records for us to find. We will endeavor to find the submitted record and keep in touch with our findings.

Complete information including catalogue number is included within the product page of the record so you know that the item is the exact issue you want. This information is something we strive to provide because there is nothing more annoying that purchasing the wrong remix, so you will find that info on 99% of the product pages.
We have a unique skype calling facility for FREE calls to First Rhythm Records from your PC for anything from enquiries about items to placing and paying for your order and also the opportunity to listen to tracks. Just call - firstrhythm or click on the logo when its showing us as available on the home page to auto dial us.

At First Rhythm we do not display records on site which are not in stock unlike many other online dance stores whose stock is half sold out or is on back order, everything on site is in stock and available to order, the exception are the psytrance cds which usually take 2-3 days to despatch.

Running side by side with the website is this sister blog 1stRhythm that obviously you have already found! The blog will detail day to day happenings at FRR including stock deliveries, our fave tunes or site developments, just about anything will be posted complete with RSS feeds so you can keep up to date through your news reader.

The payment server is fully integrated with our checkout process and is quick, easy and safe to use. Payments can be made over the phone too with our new system, just call +44(0)161 408 1377 to plac your order over the phone, we still offer Paypal as a payment option too.
