TUNE OF THE WEEK! Lank ‘Confrontation’ Boz Boz
Lank ‘Confrontation’ is our new tune of the week, coming in on Quivver’s Boz Boz label, its a big sounding progressive anthem. Available to purchase on 12″ vinyl here
Péter Golyán is a young producer from Hungary and here provides us with two excellent cuts under the Lank moniker. Confrontation sounds like its a remix of digweed and muirs bedrock remix of chakra ‘i am’ from 1996. The track has an old sound but being on Boz Boz a label ran by one of the big names of the 1995/1996 progressive sound - Quivver, its not surprising.
The intro is atmospheric and organic sounding with a nice string laden intro. The driving bass then comes in and eventually gives way to a rich melodic almost sitar like riff surorunded by lush pads and fx sounding before the driving bass drops back and the journey continues with dark sound fx.
Wicked Soul is a slower stripped down techier affair, the break has the dark and atmospheric sound that Confrontation has but in a cleaner and less ‘big’ sounding than the flip
Both tracks are definate winners, Confrontation for peak time progressive fans and Wicked soul for lovers of the more tech prog sound
